INSURANCE

Your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan may cover psychotherapy services in full or in part.

Contact your Insurance provider to check if coverage for Registered Psychotherapy is included in your Policy.

I don't offer direct billing. Sessions are paid upfront, and reimbursement can then be sought through your insurer if your plan includes coverage.

Paid invoices, which you can submit to your insurance provider are provided after each appointment.

Questions to ask your provider:

  • Does my plan cover psychotherapy provided by a Registered Psychotherapist?

  • Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?

  • Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have or how much it covers per session? If so, what is the limit?

  • Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?

Why ONLINE therapy?

Many trauma survivors and folks who are navigating grief and loss feel more at ease participating from their own space

Research shows virtual trauma therapy is as effective as traditional face-to-face sessions and may even provide some additional benefits by removing physical and logistical barriers including:

  • Increased sense of safety and control in familiar surroundings

  • Consistent access to care, even on the hard days

  • Reduced hypervigilance and experience of stigma

  • More immediate post session decompression

  • Access to specialized providers and flexibility in scheduling

We respectfully acknowledge that we are uninvited settlers living and working on the traditional, stolen, and unceded territories of the ᐊᓂᔑᓈᐯᐗᑭ (Anishinabewaki), Wendake-Nionwentsïo, Ho-de-no-sau-nee-ga (Haudenosaunee), Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinaabemowin (Ojibwe) Nations.

What we now refer to as Canada was also built on the labour of many immigrant and migrant communities. We remember those who came here involuntarily, particularly those brought to these lands as a result of the trans-Atlantic slave trade and slavery. This city was built on stolen land and stolen labour of Black, Indigenous, and racialized people.

We are committed to understanding the ongoing impacts of colonization and working towards decolonization, both inside and outside the therapy room. Please visit native-land.ca to learn about whose lands you are on.
